Project Manager

 

Overview:

The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, organization and finalization of projects according to deadlines and within an approved budget. This includes compiling resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, vendors and 3rd-party contractors in order to drive and deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project objectives and oversee quality control throughout the entirity of the project. They will be the organizational backbone of any project initiative.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage the organization's capability life cycle to execute best in class project management procedures.

  • Develops a detailed project plan for each initiative and monitors and tracks progress against that plan.  Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.

  • Accomplishes project results by communicating job expectations; planning and monitoring, coaching, counseling and mentoring project team members.

  • Directs projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.

  • Verifies application results by conducting quality control exercises on technologies implemented.

  • Documents project activity and manages risk/burn accordingly.

  • Drives the identification, development, and delivery of all IT Application solutions using detailed business requirements.

  • Plans capacity for entrance facilities, co-location cabinets, cage layouts and coordinating fiber cabling builds.

  • Work with other Team Leaders to ensure smooth interaction and processes for team members is clear and concise.

  • Management of all outsourced technical support and 3rd party project consultants.

  • Keep current on new and emerging storage technology and functionality.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. 

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, preferably managing IT related initiatives.  

  • Solid functional background related to IT initiatives with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software development or systems administration

  • Strong demonstrated leadership of direct and indirect teams and all of the associated leadership, mentoring and supervisory skills.

  • Exceptional organizational skills including a high level of attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

  • Exceptional working knowledge of MS Office applications, most notably Project, Power-point and Excel.

  • Ability to be a technical strategic thought leader as well as a “hands on" implementer.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • History of analyzing business requirements and translating them to technical specifications.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with ConnectWise.

  • Certifications: PMP
